About

Dr Rosie Burton

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and have 10 years experience working in NHS services. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of East Anglia in 2012. Since qualifying I have worked in a variety of NHS settings including;  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (Oxford), the National and Specialist Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Service for Children and Young People (London), HIV and Sexual Health (London and Norwich) and Infant and Maternal Mental Health (London). I have also volunteered for the UK Sri Lanka Trauma Group in Sri Lanka, where I taught on the MSc in Clinical Psychology at the University of Colombo.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, so I use a variety of models to inform my practice. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the corner-stone of effective therapy; this means I work in a collaborative, warm and non-judgmental way with all my clients.  Therapy also needs to be challenging and self-reflection can feel uncomfortable. I offer a compassionate space where this can be experienced safely and with kindness.

I also offer clinical supervision to other independent clinical psychologists.
